Kelly Wearstler has created the perfect place for parking the soon-to-be-released GMC HUMMER EV — an exquisite livable garage in Southern California’s awe-inspiring desert. Her ingenious design merges the rugged landscape of Brutalism and Mid-Century Modernism, creating a sculpted bronze metal shell with a sleek, angular form.

The masterpiece takes advantage of natural light that cascades through a skylight into the interior, saturated by hues of travertine, delta wood, and sand-colored plaster. Kelly caps off her work with furniture pieces such as her own Echo bench and Monolith side table, as well as Erik Olovsson’s impressive artworks, Willy Guhl’s vintage designs, and Jan Ekselius’ classic pieces — all forming a picturesque ensemble around the captivating centerpiece — the flashy GMC HUMMER EV.
